Butterflies

Resembling small flowers that fly with haste and flirtation. In their indefatigable evolutions, these attractive creatures seem not to have a final destination. Colorful and fragile, they zigzag through the wind of the most varied natural scenarios... in short, the butterflies are -for many- the most attractive and showy insects in the planet.

Butterflies belong to the group of lepidopterons and can survive in any place, although they prefer to inhabit warm and tropical regions. During their life, they present a series of changes, better-known as metamorphosis, a phenomenon that includes, also, a variation of their nutritious regimen.

Recent investigations have demonstrated that in Peru there are more than 3,700 species of butterflies, that is to say, 20 percent of all the butterflies that exist in the world.

Thanks to its impressive variety of species of butterflies, Ecuador occupies the sixth place in the world, and the second one among tropical countries, while Bolivia, occupies the seventh place with 39 species.

The zigzags of these small "flying flowers" is incessant in all the natural regions of the Andean countries, because these insects have adapted to the inclemencies of the climate and height.

Yes, the millennial lands of the Inca offer, to investigators and travelers from all over the world, the possibility to discover the blinding colors and the accelerated flight of the butterflies: the flowers that fly.
